NCRTAC Offers $10,000 in Member Project Grants

The NCRTAC has $10,000 available to be awarded as project grants to NCRTAC EMS, hospitals and other member organizations. 

The grant funds can be used for any project that helps the NCRTAC meet its mission of reducing the death, disability and suffering that result from traumatic injuries and mass casualty events by providing a comprehensive and integrated system of regional prevention and trauma care resources throughout the continuum of care. Priority will be given to projects that are a collaborative effort by one or more organizations and those that have a regional impact.

NCRTAC Opens nominations for Executive Council

In May the NCRTAC will vote to fill Executive Council seats. The Executive Council is responsible for setting the direction of the RTAC and monitoring the work of the committees. Download the Nomination Form HERE and return it to the RTAC Coordinator by May 2, 2024.

Healthy Aging Grants Legislation

Healthy Aging Grants (HAG) legislation has been introduced in both the state Senate (SB 407 - referred to the Senate Health Committee) and state Assembly (AB 418 - referred to the Assembly Health, Aging & Long-Term Care Committee) with 17 legislators in support. This legislation would provide $378,000 in annual funding for 2 years to support the Wisconsin Institute for Healthy Aging's (WIHA's) Falls Free Wisconsin initiative as well as the delivery of evidence-based health promotion programs and practices. WI Trauma Report: 2022 Year in Review


The purpose of this report is to inform key partners, including the Wisconsin public, on the trends of traumatic injury throughout Wisconsin. For more information on this report, or to request Wisconsin Trauma Registry data, contact the Wisconsin Department of Health Services (DHS) Trauma Team. All data for this report is from Wisconsin’s Trauma Registry and meets the Trauma Registry Inclusion Criteria as found in the Wisconsin State Trauma Registry Data Dictionary. Only hospitals with trauma level classifications are required to submit data to Wisconsin’s Trauma Registry.

2022 EMS and Falls in WI Report

The purpose of this report is to inform key partners, including the Wisconsin public, on the trends of falls seen by EMS throughout Wisconsin. Data in this report are from both the Wisconsin Ambulance Run Data System (WARDS) and the National Fire Incident Reporting System (NFIRS). All EMS Services and Fire Services report into these systems. For questions related to the 2022 EMS and Falls in Wisconsin report, please reach out to dhsemssmail@dhs.wisconsin.gov.

NCRTAC Approves updated Bylaws

NCRTAC Approves updated Position Statement on the use of helicopters in EMS.


NCRTAC updates Radiology Position Statement

At the July 2022 general membership meeting, the NCRTAC voted to approve an updated version of the Position Statement on Radiologic Studies Before Transfer of Critically Injured Patients. The statement has also been endorsed by the trauma medical directors at each of the Level II Trauma Centers in the region.

The RTAC recently purchased individual hemorrhage control kits to give away with each class taught. We also have money available to offer modest stipends to instructors if they are not being paid by their employer or other sponsor. Contact Michael.Fraley@NCRTAC-WI.org for more details.
